Student Ridership & GPS Tracking Software
SRC was born out of need. Our parent company, SpotMyBus, developed and manufactures the most powerful GPS tracking hardware in the industry, along with cellular modems (first 3G and then 4G LTE) to allow tracking information to move in real-time from buses to our servers. For additional information regarding our software offerings, please take a look at spotmybus.com and don’t hesitate to e-mail or call if you have questions.
When SpotMyBus was founded, a patent held by a German company prevented all others from providing student ridership solutions. Just a few years ago, that patent expired, and SpotMyBus immediately added student ridership equipment and software to its product line. Given our prior experience designing and manufacturing electronics and software, developing RFID readers, cards, and control software was straightforward.
While operating SpotMyBus, we noticed our customers spending more than they should on RFID readers, cards and accessories. We were surprised and dismayed by how often other providers pushed school districts away from the most cost-efficient policies simply to increase their profits. Recognizing an underserved market, we launched a subsidiary: Student Ridership Complete. Introducing competition always lowers prices and raises quality.
