FAQ
Yes.
While RFID cards appear to be nothing more than plastic cards with printing on both sides, they are much more. Within each RFID cards is a set of electronics including an antenna, circuitry, and a tiny processor. Many different processor are available and each implements a different technology.
In student ridership applications, the two most common RFID technologies are 125kHz and 13.56MHz systems. We manufacture cards using both of those technologies and others too. We will provide exactly the right RFID cards for the technology you use.
Until we entered the student ridership RFID card space, there was insufficient competition. Our parent company manufactures and sells a school bus tracking (GPS) and Student Ridership solution (see spotmybus.com). We began manufacturing RFID cards for our customers to use with SpotMyBus. Before long, we realized that others in school transportation were being charged very high prices for RFID cards, so we began manufacturing in even larger quantities, and the economies of scale allowed for even lower pricing which we now offer to all users of RFID cards in the school transportation space.
Also, other providers of RFID cards and bus tracking solutions are resellers, not manufacturers of any equipment. We manufacture RFID cards, GPS trackers, cellular modems, along with cables, antennas, keypads, speakers, and more. As manufacturers, rather than middlemen, we have complete control over quality and experience lower costs.
